A Captivating Guessing Game

A lovely non-fiction picture book about some different types of birds.  Birds From Head to Tail by Stacey Roderick and Kwanchai Moriya is absolutely gorgeous.  The illustrations are bold and colourful, totally captivating. Your reader will be engaged right from the cover.

The format is so fun and it can grow with the reader.  For toddlers and preschoolers, it can be a simple guessing game, question and answer.  As the reader gets older you can delve more into the information on each of the different birds featured.  I love how Stacey Roderick has written easy to understand and very interesting information about each of the birds and also provided some quick little snippets of “Other Awesome Birds” at the end.  Some of the birds are very well known and easily identified but others are less common, keeping the book fresh and exciting. Birds From Head To Tail makes an excellent addition to any science library and is perfect for any non-fiction loving readers in your household or classroom.
