Classic Reimagined

Classic Reimagined

I’m all for new takes on classic tales! Goldibooks and the Wee Bear by Troy Wilson and Edwardian Taylor is not only a classic reimagined but it’s also about BOOKS! This story could not be more perfect for a book lover like myself.

Goldibooks and her family have a ton of books (kinda sounds familiar) and when Wee Bear sets off in search of something to read, the allure of all the books on the shelves at Goldi’s house is just too much to bear..haha, get it!

Goldibooks and the Wee Bear flips the script on the Goldilocks story. In this story, we get the Wee Bear as the intruder, sneaking around where he isn’t supposed to. With pacing just like the classic tale, children will be able to make predictions and will be able to help tell the story as they read. Troy Wilson adds some really clever moments, like Mama and Papa bear explaining that humans get very angry if bears get too close to children. The ending to this story is a fun little surprise and will lead to some really imaginative ideas about animals and humans together. I wonder what else humans and animals may enjoy doing together?

Edwardian Taylor bring the cartoon magic to this story. Illustrated in an animated style, you could almost mistake this book for one about a movie. Readers will LOVE investigating all of the illustrations to find all the little details hidden in the bookshelves and the forest.
