All Books Should be Bunny Books

Are certain books just dog books and certain books just bunny books? Why is that and is that fair? Judith Henderson takes a cute look at the topic in This is a Dog Book illustrated by Julien Chung.

When a little bunny wants to be in the book, the dogs question whether the bunny is allowed, because it’s a dog book after all. The bunny insists they are a dog and faces a series of dog questions. Even though they answer them, the dogs are not convinced. Good thing the bunny has brought along lots of cookies and wins the dogs over in the end because they are a good friend.

It’s a super sweet, fun little story that we really enjoyed because we have a little bunny (Salad The WonderBunny) and love any books with fluffy bunnies in then. It’s a great book to learn more about dog and bunny characteristics and what makes a dog a dog. Plus there is poop in it and you can’t go wrong with poop in a children’s book.

The illustrations by Julien Chung are awesome! The striking black line drawings with the pop of red colour are bold and fun and really perfect for reading to little babies too with the lovely contrast.
