Hi.

Welcome to my reviews.  Enjoy, take some time to discover a new book!  Happy reading!

Forever Truffle

Forever Truffle

The dream team of Fanny Britt and Isabelle Arsenault are back bringing their beloved characters Louis and Truffle back to life in Forever Truffle.

In Forever Truffle, readers are treated to three short stories all about Truffle. We learn about his love of a good leather jacket, his desire to form the greatest rock band of all time, his first love, and his first experience with death.

Written in a graphic novel style, these stories will have readers laughing out loud. Truffle’s joy is infectious. I could not keep the smile off my face through the whole book. It’s a pleasant departure from their other stories which are quite heavy, in topic and in size. Forever Truffle is a compact book, big on laughs and fun.

It’s wonderful to revisit the family from one of their earlier books, Louis Undercover, to see how they are faring since their parents divorce and their dad’s battle with alcoholism. Forever Truffle sees the family living their best lives, happy. We get to meet Truffle’s best friends and now band mates and we get to experience Truffle’s first love and the weird and awkward feelings first love evokes. It’s cringey in the most wonderful way.

Isabelle Arsenault’s mixed media art is like a trip inside Truffle’s soul. The vibrant colours and mashed together items feel just like the inside of a child’s brain.
