Hi.

Welcome to my reviews.  Enjoy, take some time to discover a new book!  Happy reading!

A Rabbit’s Day

A Rabbit’s Day

If you have never sat down with a book by marianne dubuc make Your House, My House your first. It’s a delightful little story about a day in the life of the Rabbit family who live in a big two-story apartment building with many other adorable woodland creatures.

While the story is fairly simple and not overly involved, it’s the illustrations that always set marianne dubuc’s stories apart. The book is quite big, much larger than your regular picture book, making it perfect for sharing with a large group. Inside the covers, marianne takes you to the inside of the apartment building showing readers a crosssection of the building and inside all of the apartments. Each apartment has a story of its own happening within the larger tale. Each time readers pick up this book, there will be a new story to tell and a new element of the illustrations to discover.

Another marvellous thing about the book is it leaves space for wonder. There are so many ways to make inferences and predictions just by looking at the pictures. Older readers can even take cues from this story to help guide their own creative writing.

For those French language learners, this story was originally published in french under the title Chez toi, chez moi. Exploring the story first in English, then in french will increase french comprehension. It’s wonderful to have books available in both languages to help our young readers.
