Hi.

All Our Love

All Our Love

All Our Love by Kari-Lynn Winters and Scot Ritchie is a story about families and love.

Sophia is getting very excited to be a big sister and she is writing the most perfect welcome letter for her new sibling who is almost here. She tells the new baby all about her Dad and her Daddy and how they each have their own special way of showing their love.

A departure for Kari-Lynn Winters’ usually hilarious stories, All Our Love is a beautiful story about family. In this case a family with a Dad and a Daddy, which I find sadly lacking in the picture book landscape. I love that this story is written in the first person, Sophia writing to her new baby sibling. There is a ton of anticipation when a big brother or sister is wanting for a new baby to join their family. This is a book for all families, to show young readers that all of our families are different and unique and love us just the same.

Scot Ritchie’s illustrations are beautiful and inclusive as usual; filled with action and heart. I very much appreciated the scenes in the hospital. Thank you so much to Scot and the design team for showing all of the people in the hospital wearing masks. Just as important as the topic of the story, the demonstration of community care is equally important and I am so impressed by this small but meaningful detail.
