Another Trip Back to Green Gables

Another Trip Back to Green Gables

We are so glad the next book in the early reader Anne series is here!  We loved Anne Arrives so much we were eagerly anticipating Anne’s Kindred Spirits by the wonderful team of Kallie George and Abigail Halpin.  Taking us back to Green Gables and the time when Anne meets Diana and a bosom friendship is forged. We also get a chance to explore the time when Marilla’s amethyst brooch goes missing.  Two defining moments in Anne’s early days at Green Gables.

Again, The Bee and I are absolutely loving that we can curl up and visit with Anne in a way she can understand and be involved in the story.  As a five year old girl with red hair, The Bee really feels like she and Anne are kindred spirits. She can see some of herself reflected back as she certainly has all the spunk of Miss Anne Shirley.  Abigail Halpin’s illustrations are spot on once again, evoking the late nineteenth century and Anne’s coming of age and truly finding her place in the world. Abigail Halpin paints the loveliest scenes of Green Gables, Orchard Slope, an all the beauty of P.E.I. We cannot wait to continue to explore Anne’s life together and truly hope there will be many more Anne books to come
