Hi.

Welcome to my reviews.  Enjoy, take some time to discover a new book!  Happy reading!

Nature is an Artist

Nature is an Artist

A sweet rhyming story, Nature is an Artist by Jennifer Lavallee and Natalia Colombo remind readers to get outside to stimulate their creativity.

Throughout this rhyming story, Jennifer Lavallee reminds readers of all the inspiration that nature can provide. Throughout the story, readers are treated to the ways in which nature is an artist followed by the ways that they too can be artists just like nature.

I love how this story will spark masterpieces in young readers and provide motivation for parents and teachers who are looking for something new to add to their artistic endeavours. Each of the ways that nature is an artist can be replicated through simple, easy to construct activities like collage, painting, stamping, etc.

I also love how this book will inspire readers to get outside and look for things in the natural world that they find interesting. A trip to the nearest park or greenspace to collect found objects would make an excellent complement to this story.  For Earth Week, what a great story to pair with an community walk or a community clean up activity.

Natalia Colombo creates whimsy throughout the story with her simple, colourful and charming illustrations. I especially love her interpretation of nature as a character. Sort of a mix between a yeti and some broccoli and I am here for it.
