The Most Magnificent Makers A to Z
An alphabet book for the older crowd, The Most Magnificent Maker’s A to Z by Ashley Spires is a book for budding makers everywhere.
Taking us through the alphabet one letter at a time, Ashley Spires reminds readers of some terminology and some great practices all makers should know.
I love how this book alternates between two pages spreads for some of the letters and a page per letter for others, keeping it dynamic and appealing for readers. Ashley Spires takes all of the amazing information from The Most Magnificent Thing and The Most Magnificent Idea and condenses the information into easily digestible bits.
I appreciate how she chooses to not only share science terms like brainstorm and experiment but also shares best practices for readers like trying and patience. When we have magnificent ideas in our heads and we have a hard time converting those ideas to actual concrete objects, it can be tough. From page to page Ashley Spires reassures readers that they are on the right track and if they are feeling discouraged, it’s okay to take a break.
The illustrations are fun and feature, as they should, friendly furry assistants so that readers don’t feel lonely in their scientific pursuits.
