What's In the Cookie Tin?

A globally recognizable story about the mysteries held within the blue and white tin, What’s in the Cookie Tin? by Yolanda T. Marshal and Golnoush Moini is a story that will be universally loved.

Benjamin and Olivia are off the Grandma and Grandpa’s house and they are very excited for Grandpa's pranks and Grandma’s hugs. When they discover a special blue and white tin in the spare room, they can’t wait to open the lid to see what’s inside.

I don’t know that there is a person out there that does not have a connection to a cookie tin and a mystery. Those Danish style cookie tins are always magical and can contain a whole host of different things. Yolanda T. Marshall expertly captures the anticipation and wonder of the cookie tin and its mysteries in this lovely story. I really love how she flips the script a little bit on the reader as we are all expecting one outcome from the cookie tin and we receive the opposite which was a fun way to keep the story interesting and unpredictable.

This story has global appeal and every reader will be able to see themselves and/or their family within the pages which is proven by all of the quotes from people at the back of the book. People of all different backgrounds have a cookie tin memory and I know young readers will as well.

As Yolanda T. Marshall always makes sure to do, there is a delicious recipe at the end of this story so that readers and their grownups can make their own delicious cookie tin memories together.

Golnoush Moini’s illustrations are full of joy. The faces of the grandparents and the children exude delight and happiness. She has filled the pages with colour and perfectly captured the humour in the story.
