A fun little story about the adventures of a dog taking himself for a walk, Who’s Walking Dawg? by Marie Prins and Leanne Franson is a story that will appeal to dog lovers.
Dawg really needs to go for a walk, like really does! When everyone in the family is too busy to take him for a walk, he decides to take himself. Readers are treated to a Dawg’s day out in this whimsical tale.
Marie Prins story of a dog’s day out is so sweet and has universal appeal. Dog owners will enjoy the idea of what their dog could possibly to on a day outside and perhaps gain a little more appreciation for the care of their own pets. Those who are not dog owners will enjoy traveling with Dawg as he sniffs, chases, splashes and dashes before heading home for dinner time. It’s a story that makes for a perfect read aloud and will appeal to readers from preschool and up. I just love this story. It was so fun to go with Dawg throughout the neighbourhood. Perhaps this story will inspire some neighbourhood walks. Perhaps this story will inspire some story telling/writing. I can certainly see this story becoming a bedtime favourite!
Leann Franson’s illustrations are a true delight. The wonderful doggy expressions and the exuberant illustrations of park fun will appeal to all readers. Her art invites the readers to go with Dawg to the park and back and offers a few hidden treasures to be on the hunt for.
