With four main headings, readers can explore how scientists, engineers, and architects have learned from plants and animals and worked with the natural world to create some of the most innovative and eco-friendly designs and systems, not to mention beautiful as well.  Scattered throughout are experiments the reader can conduct to gain a better understanding of the science behind these fascinating systems. Also Etta Kaner introduces us to some of the world's leading and most innovative architects and fills us in on some of the amazing innovations they have brought to the world of buildings and bridges.  

The art throughout the book is spectacular.  Carl Weins brings all of the beauty of nature with its colourful spendor to the pages.  Although this book is non-fiction, it has all the beauty of a storybook to keep readers involved and  from start to finish.
