Wednesday Wilson Looks on the Fright Side
A story tailor made for the fall, Wednesday Wilson Looks on the Fright Side by Bree Galbraith and Morgan Goble is book 4 in the Wednesday Wilson series.
Wednesday is thinking about her new business idea while also getting ready for Halloween. When she finds out her house is on the Do-Not-Knock-List she is very motivated to come up with the best Halloween giveaway while also taking on her newest business venture. Bonus if it puts the Emma’s in their place too. In classic Wednesday fashion, the good ideas come with some missteps and misunderstandings that keep readers on their toes.
The Wednesday Wilson books are HIGHLY anticipated in our home. The Bee is a HUGE fan and delights in following along on Wednesday’s highs and lows. We particularly love this story as it arrived at the perfect time, just in time for the cozy season. We are thinking about Halloween and getting ready for the big day so it was perfect to have some Wednesday inspiration!
I love that this story, and all the Wednesday stories, truly appeal to so many different readers. The stories are illustrated for younger readers who are just diving into novels but the content is interesting to older readers too. The idea of creating a business and selling products is so appealing to readers. How many children do you know that have wanted to participate in a lemonade stand or a community garage sale? Entrepreneurship is something that most children are interested in and to see a character be motivated that way and have an amazing friendship circle to help them really sets a great example and a high bar for readers who want to create their own business ventures.
Finally, this story is so relatable and that is a big tip of the hat to author Bree Galbraith. She collaborates with her children on this series to ensure that readers will feel represented in an accurate and fulsome way.
Morgan Goble’s illustrations are “chef’s kiss” and make this story so fun to read! She captures Wednesday and her friends so perfectly and really invites readers into the story.
