Dino-mite Day at the Museum
Local author and blogger at parentclub.ca Caroline Fernandez has an exciting new book coming this fall, The Adventures of Grandmasaurus illustrated by Shannon O’Toole.
A fun weekday trip to the museum to see the dinosaurs goes all kinds of wrong when grandma is up to her old tricks. You see you can’t take this grandma anywhere or else hijinx will ensue. At the museum a seemingly innocuous sneeze sets in motion an adventure that takes the children all through the dinosaur exhibits. You see, every time grandma sneezes she turns into a different type of dinosaur!
Caroline Fernandez has written a dinosaur fan’s dream book! Not only is it funny and full of adventure but we especially love how she has really combed the dinosaur encyclopedia for dinosaurs that are different from those you see in every other book about dinosaurs. Instead of triceratops, T. rex and stegosaurus we get eoraptor, zuniceratops and troodon. If you have a dinosaur obsessed little reader you will truly appreciate this story. We love it when authors can write a fantastic story while also incorporating facts and information. This story has something for fiction AND non-fiction fans.
My Dino-loving 9 year old thought this story was funny and he really loved how different types of dinosaurs made appearances within its pages. He even had a strong option about which of his dinosaurs I could use to style the picture of the book.
When there will most likely be no school field trips again this school year, you can take a trip in your imagination with The Adventures of Grandmasaurus.
